Abigail provides a calm and supportive space for you to explore the difficulties and experiences which have brought you to therapy. These may include anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, loss and transition.
Abigail has a flexible approach to working with individuals according to what would be most helpful to each person. Her training is rooted in psychodynamic theory which explores how past experiences and relationships can impact a person’s life. You don’t have to be experienced or ‘good at art’ to benefit from art therapy, it can be a mixture of talking and making art.
In 2018 Abigail qualified as an art therapist from Queen Margaret University. She has previously worked in education and the voluntary sector. Her experience includes working therapeutically with children and young people and adults in both one to one and group settings.
Her current work is within a perinatal service supporting pregnant clients and recent parents who are struggling. She has also worked with people impacted by drug and alcohol use and trauma.
