Sarah is passionate about using art as a powerful tool to explore thoughts and emotions, supporting clients to do this if they would like. However, you don’t need to have art experience, be good at art or even make any art in the session if you don’t want.
Sarah collaborates with you, the client, to work on your individual therapeutic aims. This could be understanding and processing difficult life events, creating coping strategies or many other aspects of mental wellbeing and self-growth.
Sarah strives to create a safe and welcoming environment for you to work with complex emotions and build resilience in moving forward. Sarah has previously worked with people with difficulties including grief, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, trauma, psychosis and personality disorders.
Sarah’s background is in Fine Art (BA), special education, care and art teaching. Sarah trained in psychodynamic art psychotherapy which involves thinking about how significant events and relationships shape our experience of the world.
Sarah’s approach is inclusive and trauma-informed. She has facilitated group and individual art therapy in school and hospital settings and is currently building her private practice.
